The Great Spa Towns of Europe was inscribed on the World Heritage List at the 44th World Heritage Committee meeting in Fuzhou, China.

The name of the property was changed to the Great Spa Towns of Europe, previously the Great Spa Towns of Europe.

The Great Spa Towns of Europe was inscribed with criteria (ii) and (iii) representing the Outstanding Universal Value of the property.

Background

The nomination dossier of the Great Spa Towns of Europe was signed by the seven State Party UNESCO Ambassadors at the Czech Embassy in Paris on the 22nd January 2019.

The nomination was due to be determined by the World Heritage Committee meeting in Fuzhou, China in July 2020 but this was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
