Františkovy Lázně

Františkovy Lázně, with its characteristic yellow buildings was deliberately planned, as a "model" spa town, and has a light and open feel to it - with wide open spaces near the springs and extensive parklands with level paths reaching right into the heart of the town.  Not to be missed are the sounds of the springs in the Glauber Springs Hall, and a trip to the Nature reserve where you can see hundreds of Carbon Dioxide springs and discover the source of the healing peat used in thermal treatments in the baths. Goethe and Chopin were regular visitors here and modern-day festivals celebrate them and their work.
