Healing Springs from the earth’s depths

In the territory of Karlovy Vary, almost 80 thermal mineral springs rise to the ground from depths of approximately 2000 metres.  Only 15 are used for spa treatment though.  They are captured and supplied through pipelines to spring bowls located on the spa colonnades and in arbours.  Their temperature range between 14 and 73°C and they differ in their mineral and CO₂ content.  Apart from thermal mineral water, other local healing resources are also utilised for therapeutic purposes, such as peloids (mud), gases, peat pulp and peat.
