Ideas for a perfect day in Mariánské Lázně

A perfect day in Mariánské Lázně

Here are our ideas for you to create an unforgettable day in Mariánské Lázně

10 a.m.
Soak up the atmosphere of the spa

After arriving in Marienbad, take a short tour of the town including the Singing Fountain, and try the traditional local spa wafers. Take the cable car to Krakonoš or walk up the Krakonoš trail. At the Krakonoš statue you can get an idea of what Marienbad looked like in its early days.

TIP for children: The statue of Krakonoš can make a wish come true for all who hop around him three times and then touch his belt buckle.

11 a.m.
Rest in a fairytale paradise

Take on refreshments in the Fairytale Sculpture Garden and then visit Boheminium with its unique miniature castles and other sights from around the Czech Republic. The Miniaturpark displays just over seventy perfect scale models (1:25) of significant buildings and technical sights in the Czech Republic. There’s also a children’s playground and a trampoline. TIP: The cable car runs during the summer season every 15 minutes between 10am and 5.30pm.

2.30 p.m.
Walk yourself healthy

Next comes a walk along the way-marked Edward Trail. The deer enclosure gives you the chance to observe beautiful forest animals. TIP: The deer like to be fed – bring them some chestnuts, acorns, or apples. When the weather is good, you can see for miles from the top of Hamelika Tower. Goethe’s resting place is a reminder of the many visits the illustrious German poet Goethe made to the town.  The Charles Cross is to remember the man who founded the town, abbot Karel Reitenberger. The trail ends at the Nové Lázně in the centre of town.

7 p.m.
A night at the opera

End your day with a cultural experience. Over the course of the year over 2000 events take place in Marienbad. Find the right one for you with our event calendar. TIP: On Friday evenings the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra performs in the period ballroom at the Casino.
